There's a colleague of mine who stares at me a lot, and I'm pretty sure he has a crush on me. He doesn't ever come forward and say hello though. This is frustrating, because I think he's interesting and I would like to go out for a cup of coffee just to see what he's like. His shyness is beginning to irritate me. How can I push him to act?
It's 2017; you can simply ask him out for a cup of coffee instead. That's pretty much the only way of finding out if he's as interesting as he appears to be.
I recently surprised my girlfriend with a sex toy. I purchased it abroad and had a friend bring it to me. But she was horrified and refuses to use it. She called me a pervert and said I had no right to gift her something like that because she doesn't use sex toys. I don't know what the big deal is, because it's not as if she is prudish in any way. I have taken it back and kept it, but she is cold towards me now; it is as if she blames me for something. I just don't get it, because this is a harmless gift. It's not as if I got her something horrifying. How do I get her to understand that I didn't mean to offend her in any way? She has blown this completely out of proportion.
Give her time to process the idea. It may have nothing to do with the sex toy at all; so allow her to tell you why she reacted the way she did. If she has blown it out of proportion, she probably has a good reason; why not give her the benefit of doubt? This is just another stage in your relationship where you both learn about each other's likes and dislikes. Don't worry about it.
