Man Utd news: Zlatan Ibrahimovic tipped to be like Paul Scholes by Louis Saha

MANCHESTER UNITED star Zlatan Ibrahimovic has been tipped to have the same effect as Paul Scholes when the veteran came out of retirement back in 2012.

Ibrahimovic is finally available for Manchester United again after missing the last seven months through injury.

The 36-year-old made his return in the 4-1 victory against Newcastle at the weekend, giving the Red Devils hope of catching fierce rivals Manchester City in the title race.

And Manchester United hero Saha thinks that, so good is the former Inter and AC Milan star, that Ibrahimovic could have the same effect as Scholes.

"I think Zlatan hasn’t been injured much in his career," Saha told the club’s official website.

"But, mentally he seems to be very confident about it.

"He doesn’t show fear and he has never been someone who will show it anyway. And he will bring confidence and leadership. The way he moves is more about his brain than his physique.

"You can’t really lose that because he is a big guy who knows how to move, knows the rhythm of the game so this is the thing he will never lose.

"It’s like Paul Scholes coming back from retirement, it is like he is still young and has the legs.

“But because of this level of player, they understand the game, they know how to give the information to the youngsters."

Man Utd news: Paul Scholes came out of retirement against Manchester City in 2012

Scholes famously called time on his playing days back in 2011 after the club’s 3-1 Champions League final defeat to Barcelona.

But he returned in dramatic circumstances in January the following year.

Scholes was named on the bench for a 3-2 FA Cup victory over City at the Etihad Stadium.

And he went on to win one more Premier League title before quitting again in 2013.
