The Chhattisgarh Government is making hectic preparations for the World Diabetes Day to be observed on November 14 in various parts of the State.
Provision is being made to examine patients with blood pressure and blood sugar in all the State Government hospitals. Chief Minister Raman Singh appealed to the citizens of the State to avail of the medical facilities available at their doorsteps.
Health Minister Ajay Chandrakar directed the Department officers to provide all medical equipment, para-medical staff and other facilities.Health Department Secretary Subrat Sahoo reviewed the preparations of the Health Department. The officials informed that the target is to examine five lakh blood pressure and blood sugar patients in six hours period from 10 am - 4:00 pm.
The aim is to record it in the Golden Book of World Records. The hospitals include 27 State Government Hospitals, 790 Primary Health Centres, 117 Community Health Centres, 3027 sub-health centres and 36 urban Primary Health Centres. Ayush Health Centres and other identified health centres also will examine the patients.
The blood pressure and blood sugar patients will be provided with medicines also. Counters also will be opened at the hospitals. Representatives from Golden Book of World Records will visit any of the centres and authenticate the records.
The Health Department officials had instructed the Chief Medical Officers and Health Officers, Civil Surgeons and Block Medical Officers to spread awareness regarding the health programme.
