Transcript: Trump Renews Calls For Border Wall After Patrol Officer Is Killed

After US border patrol agent was killed and his partner severely injured, President Trump made a renewed plea to build his border wall.

Trump tweeted “Border Patrol Officer killed at Southern Border, another badly hurt.

We will seek out and bring to justice those responsible.

We will, and must, build the Wall!” A news release from the US Customs and Border Protections reports the agent who was killed was identified as Rogelio Martinez.

Martinez and his partner were apparently responding to activity outside of El Paso when the incident occurred.

Elaine Duke, acting secretary of Homeland Security said the agency is "fully supporting the ongoing investigation to determine the cause of this tragic event."
