Rajasthan chief minister Vasundhara Raje recently met Union minister of railways Piyush Goyal. In the meeting, Raje discussed various issues related to railway projects of the state, promoting tourism, operation of royal trains, transportation of coal for the state’s energy projects and increase in railway racks. CM Raje also urged the Union Railway Minister to maintain the heritage importance of the 70-km long Dhaulpur-Sarmathura rail line. She suggested that without removing this historic railway line, new parallel broad gauge line should be laid. The Chief Minister said that under this project, costing more than Rs.2,000 crore, Delhi-Chennai and Delhi-Mumbai Central Rail Lines should be set up by laying a 75-km broad gauge rail line between Sarmathura-Gangapur to connect with Sawai Madhopur Via Dhaulpur-Karauli.
