Beset with controversy for the past few weeks, Viacom18 Motion Pictures' production 'Padmavati', which was due for release on December 1, has been deferred "voluntarily", the producers said on Sunday. In a statement to PTI, a spokesperson of Viacom18 Motion Pictures said, "Viacom18 Motion Pictures, the studio behind 'Padmavati', has voluntarily deferred the release date of the film from December 1st 2017."
