AAP: Where to Go from Here?

The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP), which came to power in Delhi with a massive public mandate was hoped to bolster participatory democracy in every step of governance. Arvind Kejriwal, who promised the people of Delhi, a completely new dream has not been able to manage the party affairs since the day one of his government. With the latest sex video of a sitting Minister out in the media, the Delhites must now be repenting why they voted for this party. Why the big mess inside the party? Is Kejriwal in full control of the AAP? Is there someone behind to spoil the image of the party?

However, the common man on the road is very much convinced that Kejriwal himself is in utter confusion. Instead of controlling his own party, he is making the blame game politics agog in media so that he can somehow manage to hide the abject failure of his government. Meanwhile, with so many scandals and bribery cases against his MLA’s and Ministers, it seems, his own party men will write the history of its demise instead of someone aiding to do so.

The veteran social worker Anna Hazare who played a pivotal role to launch Kejriwal in the beginning is reported to be upset about the condition of AAP. Thinking Kejriwal as a crusader who had the guts to take on the Gandhis to the all other big bosses of Indian politics, people came out to lend their support for him. India demanded change and he wanted to be the face of that dynamic. He was even projected as Prime Minister hopefuls during the peak of his career. But within few months of his rule, his government fell badly to respond to the people of Delhi.

Of course he found an immediate excuse for all the ills of Delhi-it is the BJP-led NDA Government led by Narendra Modi who is conspiring against his party and the government. Hence, he is not been able to deliver most of his projects. And the top of it, it is the Lieutenant Governor of Delhi Najib Jung is alleged to have played the role of the agent of the Centre who is scuttling all the opportunities of his government. So it is AAP, which is not failing rather the Modi Government and the LG of Delhi are making Kejriwal a scapegoat. Truth must come out soon. Delhites must respond to Kejriwal.
