A liquor consignment worth Rs 57 lakh, allegedly meant for distribution to voters in the upcoming Uttar Pradesh civic polls, was seized, police said today.
Acting on a tip-off, the consignment of liquor, being bought from Punjab, was seized after a police team raided near Turtipar graveyard yesterday, Superintendent of Police Anil Kumar said.
The liquor was stated to be worth Rs 57 lakh, he said, adding the main accused was arrested while three others managed to flee.
