Tributes pour in as AC/DC co-founder Malcolm Young passes away

Canberra [Australia], November 19 : AC/DC co-founder and legendary musician Malcolm Young passed away on Saturday. The guitarist had been suffering from dementia for the last three years.

Ever since the news of Young's death broke out, Twitter has been abuzz with reactions and tributes for the legendary musician. Fellow band members, other musicians and fans poured their heart out, expressing shock and grief.

"So sad to learn of the passing of yet another friend, Malcolm Young. He will be sadly missed. God Bless @ACDC," wrote iconic singer Ozzy Osbourne.

American singer and painter Paul Stanley wrote, "The driving engine of AC/DC has died. A tragic end for a sometimes unsung icon. One of the true greats. RIP".

"It is a sad day in rock and roll. Malcolm Young was my friend and the heart and soul of AC/DC. I had some of the best times of my life with him on our 1984 European tour. He will be missed and my deepest condolences to his family, bandmates and friends," tweeted American musician and songwriter, Eddie Van Halen.

Saddened to hear Young's death, Def Leppard's Joe Elliott took to twitter and remembered when he opened for AC/DC on the 'Highway To Hell' tour.

"It was great to get the opportunity to open for AC/DC on the Highway To Hell tour and we certainly learned a thing or two. He was an incredible guitar player and the glue for that band onstage and off. RIP Malcolm, say hi to Bon," Joe wrote on ," the group's frontman wrote on Twitter.

Malcolm Young wrote much of the band's material that enabled AC/DC to become one of the biggest heavy rock bands, including 'Back In Black', 'Highway to Hell', and 'You Shook Me All Night Long'.

An additional statement from Malcolm Young's family said that Malcolm Young died peacefully on Saturday with his family beside him.
