MADURAI: A day after the Income Tax raid at Poes Garden, Chief Minister Edappadi Palaniswami has opened up saying, the State government is in no way connected to it. Speaking at Madurai airport, Edappadi Palaniswami said that the party cadre were deeply wounded by the raids. “I-T department does not fall under the State Government and the State has no part to play in the raids at Poes Garden.”

Responding to a question regarding the recent review meeting that was conducted by Governor Banwarilal Purohit in Coimbatore, Palaniswami said that the Governor neither inspected nor conducted any review meeting. “He was just enquiring about the welfare schemes that was implemented by the government,” the CM said.

The chief minister also stated that the governor had himself appreciated the functions of State government.
