ASTON VILLA manager Steve Bruce has revealed why he left Ahmed Elmohamady out of his squad to play QPR.

Egypt international Elmohamady, 30, played the full 90 minutes for his country in their 1-1 draw with Ghana last Sunday.
Alan Hutton returned to his favoured right-back position while Neil Taylor slotted in at left-back.
Mile Jedinak, who scored a hat-trick for Australia in their World Cup qualifier, was included but Bruce wanted him in case of an emergency.
Discussing Elmohamady’s omission, the Villa boss said: “I just left him completely. The same with Jedinak, I just thought I’d put Jedinak on the bench because you know what it’s going to be like here in the last 10/15 minutes if you need defensive cover.
“Elmo, I just decided to leave him out completely because he’s been all over Africa.

“Thankfully I got it right.”
Villa beat QPR 2-1 at Loftus Road to climb to fifth in the Championship table.
Jamie Mackie opened the scoring for the hosts but Albert Adomah struck twice to seal all three points.
A home game against Sunderland on Tuesday (7.45pm) is next up for Villa.
