1 injured in firing in Capital

BHUBANESWAR: Three anti-socials on Friday evening opened fire at a private hospital security personnel over past enmity. This is second such incident in the last 10 days. The miscreants came in a car and intercepted Pabitra Sethi while he was going to hospital near Sampur under Khandagiri police limits. One of the miscreants shot Sethi on his left leg and abdomen. Sethi narrowly escaped after the miscreant attempted to shoot him for the third time. The staff of hospital’s parking lot rushed to Sethi’s rescue, but the miscreants managed to flee from the spot in their car. The injured man was rushed inside the hospital where his condition is stated to be critical.

2 held for selling 4-wheeler

Police arrested two persons on charges of theft. The miscreants have been identified as Sushant Majhi of Bhadrak district and Santosh Nayak of Nayagarh district. Majhi was staying in Salia Sahi and was working as a cab driver for Chintamani Sahu of Prasanti Vihar here. The cab was booked on November 6 for shifting a patient to Berhampur. Taking the opportunity, Majhi fled with the vehicle and later sold the vehicle to Santosh Nayak of Ghatikia. Sahu lodged a complaint and police nabbed Majhi and recovered `90,000.
