After Saina Nehwal, it’s now the turn of former badminton champion and chief national coach Pullela Gopichand to have his life get adapted for a biopic.

To be made in Hindi and Telugu, the film will be produced by Fox Star Studios in collaboration with Abundantia Entertainment, and will showcase his playing and coaching careers.

The project was announced on Gopichand’s birthday on Thursday. We hear that the scripting is underway and shooting will commence from mid next year.

A statement from Fox Star Studio read: “It’s an inspirational story of a man, who not only was an outstanding player, but went on to coach a new generation of players, and has changed the face of badminton.”
