KAKINADA : CPM State secretary P Madhu said that Left parties will lay siege to Amaravati on November 20 if the government failed to take steps to resolve people’s issues.
Speaking to the media at the Sundarayya Bhavan here on Friday, Madhu said that TDP MLAs and Ministers are just touring districts in the name of Intintinki TDP programme, but not taking effective steps to resolve people’s issues. He said that the Centre did not keep the promises made to AP at the time of bifurcation.

Madhu wondered how far AP Agritech Summit in Vizag would benefit farmers. “Nearly 10,000 acres of lands of farmers have been acquired to set up industries in East Godavari district. Even after 12 years, not a single company have set up shop in KSEZ,” he said. The CPM leader also said that the farmers who parted with 3,500 acres of land are not satisfied with the compensation granted by the government.

He said that Chandrababu Naidu during Yeruvaka programme in 2012 had announced that he would return the lands of KSEZ farmers. “But now he had deployed a huge posse of police personnel at KSEZ,” he added. He also promised to stand by the farmers who lost their lands for KSEZ. CPM State member Dadala Subba Rao, district secretary Duvva Seshu Babji and others were also present.
