The teenager arrested by the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) in connection with the murder of Ryan International School student Pradyuman Thakur on Saturday was taken to the school by the CBI team to recreate the sequence of events that led to the crime. The team asked the teenager to explain the events that occured on September 8 morning when Pradyuman, a Class II student of the school, was allegedly killed by him.
The sources said CBI officials also used a dummy in the form of a soft toy to ask him how he allegedly killed his junior in the school washroom.
The 15 members of the team — including forensic experts — spent around five hours on the school premises and questioned around 40 to 50 school teachers.
Later in the day, the juvenile was sent to an observation home in Faridabad. The CBI said he will be kept there until November 22 when the next hearing takes place.
“The custodial interrogation of the child in conflict with law is almost complete and he is no more required in police custody. At present, he may be sent to an observation home. The Investigation officer (IO) may seek further police custody of the child in conflict with the law during 15 days if need be,” the CBI submitted.
Meanwhile, the father of the accused claimed that his son was being tortured.
“My son is being tortured. He was hung upside down and brutally thrashed. He is completely innocent and brilliant in studies. The CBI on September 24 took clothes, laptop, hard disk and mobile phone of my son. The CBI is trying to frame my son in a fake case,” said Vinod Raghav, the father of the juvenile.
“In the statement, my son claimed he was the first who had informed school gardener about the crime and instead the CBI implicated him,” he added.
An application in the court was also filed by the father of the accused alleging that CBI had violated the norms set by the court to interrogate the juvenile. But the sources said the agency has denied all the allegations.
Meanwhile, the Juvenile Justice Board (JJB) sought clarification from the CBI for violating the timings of interrogation of the Class 11 student.
Earlier on Thursday, sources said that CBI was also probing the involvement of another student of the school in the sensational murder.
On Wednesday, the investigating agency had arrested the juvenile who, the agency claimed, confessed in the presence of his father to killing his junior school mate.
