Best Big Screen Smartphones in India 2017

The Galaxy Note 8 is the now the biggest smartphone Samsung makes. Donning a 6.3-inch Super AMOLED display with an edge to edge display, this is also one of the best looking phones available today. It comes with a stylus and thanks to the thin bezels, it is easier to hold in one hand. Samsung has been very cautious this year with, but the battery life is still just enough to take you through a work day. With the new phone you also get a dual camera at the back, which takes good images in all lighting conditions.

The Samsung Galaxy S8 Plus has slightly smaller display than Galaxy Note 8. This is one of the most beautiful phone available today and offers a large 6.2-inch display in a small and ergonomic form factor. Samsung has removed most of the bezels and thus the phone attains 84% screen to body ratio. Samsung calls the display, the Infinity display as it seamlessly curves down the sides of the phone. Powering the device is an Exynos 8895 SoC, which is Samsung’s first 10nm SoC. The phone comes with 4GB of RAM and 64GB of storage. The rear camera is a 12MP dual pixel sensor, similar to last year’s S7, but the front facing camera is now an 8MP unit.

When big phones are concerned, the iPhone 8 Plus can’t be left behind. The iPhone 8 Plus is not a particularly big screen smartphone as the device only features a 5.5-inch display, but it is the largest phone running Apple’s iOS. Like all iPhones, the device is super smooth, no matter what you do on it. With iOS, you also have a ton of quality applications on it. The iPhone 8 Plus also has an OIS-enabled dual camera setup, which combines two 12MP rear cameras. This enables the phone to get really good ‘Bokeh’ shots and 2X optical zoom.

Taking forward the almost bezel less design of the original Mi Mix, the Mi Mix 2 is one of the best looking phone this year. The phone has virtually no bezels around the sides or at the top, and hides all its front facing sensors including the selfie camera. The performance of the phone is at par with most flagship phones, but the camera needs some work.

The LG V20 is one of the better phones we reviewed last year. The phone has a large 5.7-inch display on offer with a 2560x1440 resolution. Besides that LG has employed a small secondary display above the main display which shows you your most used apps, quick toggles, etc. Powered by a tried and tested Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 SoC, the phone is quite fast. The phone has good audio output, which will appeal to audiophiles, but the rear camera isn't that great.

Termed as the “Selfie Expert” the Oppo F3 Plus lives up to its name and offers the best selfie experience available today. The phone has a 6-inch display and large 4000mAh battery, making it one of the best devices to watch video content on. It rocks a Qualcomm Snapdragon 653 Soc, along with 4GB of RAM, which ensures optimum performance most of the times. The rear camera is also quite good and its image quality comes really close to the OnePlus 3T.

The latest Samsung Galaxy A7 (2017) is not a particular fast smartphone, but the overall experience it provides makes it part of this list. It has a 5.7-inch display, offering a 1920 x 1080p resolution and a design similar to Samsung’s Galaxy S7. The A7 also offers a good front facing camera as well as a commendable battery life.

Another Samsung Smartphone which makes its way into the list is the Galaxy C9 Pro. Powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 653 SoC, this phone is as powerful as the Oppo F3 Plus. It also offers a 6-inch 1080p display and a 4000mAh battery. The build quality is quite premium and the AMOLED display offers well balanced colours.

The Mi Max 2 shares similar hardware with the Xiaomi Redmi Note 4, but in a larger 6-inch form factor. The phone offer a large 5330mAh battery, which translates into two days worth of battery life. It is available with 4GB of RAM and 64GB of storage only, moving away from the two storage options Xiaomi provided with its last iteration. On top of that, the 12MP rear camera is a welcome improvement over the 16MP rear camera the original had.
