Environment Canada has issued a weather warning for parts of Southern Quebec, as an extended period of freezing rain is expected to affect the Quebec City area.

The weather agency downgraded its initial warning to exclude Montreal.

In case of freezing rain, residents should be aware of icy roads and walkways and take extra care as they may become slippery.

The freezing rain warning is in effect for:

  • Quebec City.
  • Lachute - Saint-Jérôme.
  • Lanaudière.
  • Laurentians.
  • Mauricie.

There are also snowfall warnings in the Saguenay, Mont-Laurier, Lac-Saint-Jean and La Tuque.
