Mystery shrouds death of two women in Bundi

Kota: Two married women on Thursday died under mysterious circumstances in two separate cases in Bundi on Friday. Police have lodged cases under various sections of IPC and began investigation.

According to police, one married woman, identified as Manisha Meena (22), a resident of Khatano Ka Jhopada, died on Friday after she allegedly fell into the well in agriculture field. The family members of the deceased carried out the cremation of the without informing to her parents in Tonk district. The bother of the deceased woman, who reached her village today, alleged of murder of his sister and lodged a case against the sister-in-law of the deceased woman, police said.

The bother alleged that a dispute over the possession of tractor was underway between the husband of his deceased sister and his elder brother and the wife of the elder brother. The in-laws did not even inform of the death to her family members and carried out the cremation, he said.


A case under Sections 302 and 201 of IPC was lodged and further probe is on.


Similarly, a 32-year-old woman identified as Anita Meena allegedly died after consuming poisonous substance on Thursday night. She was rushed to community health centre at Dei but the doctors declared her brought dead.


The body was handed over to the family members after the post-mortem today and a case under Section 174 of CrPC was lodged in this connection. The family members of the deceased woman alleged of torture and harassment against the in-laws but police is currently investigating the matter, he said.
