Opposing the bail plea of bus conductor Ashok Kumar in the Ryan International murder case, the Central Bureau of Investigation told a local court here that there was no incriminating evidence against him in the murder case so far. The CBI, however, said he was not granted a clean chit either. The court has now fixed November 20 as the next date of hearing in the matter.
During the hearing, the CBI counsel told Additional District and Sessions Judge Rajni Yadav that the investigation was still on and at a sensitive stage. Saying that bail should not be granted to Mr. Ashok, the CBI counsel said they had no incriminating evidence against him so far, but appropriate action would be taken in case any evidence occurs during the investigation.
The victim’s father, through his counsel Sushil K. Tekriwal, also opposed the bus conductor’s bail plea. The court also examined forensic evidence, the DNA report, the CCTV footage, case diaries and statements made under Section 164 of the Criminal Procedure Code.
Mr. Ashok’s father Ami Chand, his maternal uncle Om Prakash Chopra and other relatives were present during the hearing. Mr. Chopra said the court fixing the next date of hearing was a bit disappointing.
