UAE medical team arrive in Bangladesh to aid Rohingya refugees

ABU DHABI, 17th November, 2017 (WAM) -- An Emirati team of medical volunteers have arrived in Bangladesh to begin the provision of medical treatment to Rohingya refugees in the country.

The UAE voluntary medical team will operate a mobile clinic which will provide medical services for those in need, especially children and the elderly, under the supervision of Emirati-Bangladeshi doctors. The mobile clinic has been flown in to the refugee site by flydubai.

Dr. Adel Al Shamri, Chief Executive Officer of the Zayed Giving Initiative, said that the campaign is part of UAE efforts of to assist Rohingya refugees who have fled hostilities in Myanmar and facing deteriorating humanitarian conditions.

The campaign is a joint humanitarian initiative that brings together the Zayed Giving Initiative, Dar Al Ber Association, Sharjah Charity House, the UAE-German Hospitals Group, in partnership with local agencies.
