Chana futures soften 2.54 pc on muted demand

Press Trust of India  |  New Delhi

Chana prices declined by 2.54 per cent to Rs 4,706 per quintal in futures trade today as speculators reduced exposure amid subdued demand at the spot market against adequate stocks position.

At the National Commodity and Derivatives Exchange, chana for delivery in December fell by Rs 123, or 2.54 per cent, to Rs 4,706 per quintal, with an open interest of 34,280 lots.

Similarly, the commodity for delivery in current month declined by Rs 54, or 1.09 per cent, to Rs 4,899 per quintal in 1,670 lots.

Marketmen said trimming of positions by traders on the back of easing demand in the physical market against adequate stocks position, mainly influenced chana prices at futures trade.
