Distinguished alumni award for NIST director

Prof Sangram Mudali

BHUBANESWAR: Prof Sangram Mudali, Director of National Institute of Science and Technology (NIST) at Berhampur, has been conferred the Distinguished Alumnus Award (DAA) 2017 of IIT Kanpur.
DAA is the highest award of IIT-K given to its alumni in recognition of their exceptional achievements.  Secretary, Department of Science and Technology, Government of India, Prof Ashutosh Sharma presented the award to Prof Mudali and five others at a function in Kanpur campus.

The Board of Governors of IIT Kanpur lauded the efforts of Prof Mudali and his wife Prof Geetika Mudali not only in establishing NIST but also for placing it among the top engineering colleges of the country in a span of two decades.Prof Muduli has also established Diganta, a school for underprivileged tribal students. The school is now shaping the future of more than 500 students with free accommodation, food and holistic education.
