Victoria’s Secret 2017: Gigi Hadid sensationally pulls OUT of show in China next week
VICTORIA’S SECRET Fashion Show hits Shanghai next week, and fans were looking forward to the return of Gigi Hadid to the catwalk - but the model has revealed she won’t be walking for the brand this year.
The Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show returns next week, and this year it will held in China for the first time.
Taking to Twitter, Gigi Hadid, 22, revealed her sadness at missing the Victoria’s Secret Fashion show as it made its debut in China.
There had been speculation over the model’s appearance after a controversial video of the model squinting her eyes and appearing to mock Asian people surfaced earlier this year.
After increasing anger from fans online, Gigi apologised for the clip.

Writing on Twitter last night, Gigi said: “I’m so bummed I won’t be able to make it to China this year. Love my VS family, and will be with all my girls in spirit!!
“Can't wait to tune in with everyone to see the beautiful show I know it will be, and already can't wait for next year!”
Back in September, angry Chinese people warned the model not to attend this year’s show in a backlash against the video which was posted by her sister Bella back in February.
She then issued an apology on a Chinese social media platform after Chinese web users left thousands of any comments calling for a boycott of Gigi.

Express.co.uk have contacted Victoria’s Secret for a comment on why Gigi won’t be appearing in the show next week as planned.
Gigi herself did not reveal the reason, but there has been speculation several models have been struggling to get visas.
Website Fashionist reported on Tuesday they four models, Julia Belyakova, Kate Grigorieva and Irina Sharipova from Russia and Dasha Khlystun from Ukraine, had allegedly been denied visas accord to Instagram fan accounts for Victoria’s Secret.
Instagram user @VSModelSpain posted a screenshot of a Dasha confirming that she will not be walking in the show this year via an Instagram Direct Message.

According to Page Six, fashion bloggers, influencers, and members of the media are also having trouble getting their visas approved.
A source told the news outlet: “It’s just a nightmare for all the media trying to cover [the show].
“These TV companies are spending a fortune on it, and they don’t even know what they can shoot when they get there.”
Gigi and Bella's mother, Yolanda Hadid, had previously spoken about how her daughter's prepare for the Victoria's Secret show with an intense fitness regime.
