Five injured in accident

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM:  Five persons were injured in an accident involving a car in front of the Raj Bhavan on Thursday. The condition of one of the injured is stated to be serious.

Four of them were admitted to the SUT Hospital at Pattom and another at the Medical College Hospital, the police said. Three of the injured are women.

The  car was suspected to be involved in racing. It is said to have jumped over the footpath and hit the electric post and rammed an autorickshaw. The road from Kowdiar to Vellayambalam is known for street races, especially at night.
