Action taken against 800 quacks in TN

A total of 800 quacks were identified in so far in the recent drive and action taken against them,health minister C Vijayabhaskar said today.

The health department has started a drive to identify fake doctors, he told reporters on the sidelines of a function organised at Gem Hospital here.


He said that International Cooperation Agency (JICA) has allocated Rs

280 crore for purchase of equipments for modernising Coimbatore Medical College Hospital.

The World has also sanctioned Rs 2,600 crore for Health System Project from this year, which will be utilised to improve the services in maternal and child health and improving access and utilisation of health services to poor, he said.

Stating that dengue has come under control in the last few days, the minister said.
