HYDERABAD: The implementation of Urdu as the second official language of the state has begun literally as the bill to this effect was passed in the Assembly on Thursday. For the first time, the Assembly staff provided answers in Urdu to MLAs and mediapersons during the Question Hour.
The Assembly passed the ‘Telangana Official Languages (Amendment) Bill, 2017’ by a voice vote as all the parties supported the bill.

The Assembly also passed the Telangana Charitable and Hindu Religious Institutions and Endowments (Amendment) Bill, 2017, for creating a fund for the purpose of payment of salaries and other emoluments to all Archakas in the state. Not only corrupt practices of employees but also their failure to discharge duties will come under the scanner of Telangana Lokayukta.  The Assembly adopted Telangana Lokayukta (Amendment) Bill, 2017 in this regard.
