Fantastic Beasts and Where To Find Them 2 now has the official moniker Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes of Grindelwald.

A cast photo - including the first look at Jude Law as a young Dumbledore - is also out in the open; showing him with a lot of facial hair and a dark blue coat.

The announcement comes ahead of the release in exactly one year's time - which will be around two years since the first movie.

The likes of Ezra Miller, Eddie Redmayne and Johnny Depp can also be seen in the first-look picture, which debuted on Twitter this afternoon.

Katherine Waterston, who plays Tina Goldstein, is also in a central position.

David Yates is directing the follow-up to last year’s box office hit, which is again written by JK Rowling - the woman who, of course, created the whole Harry Potter universe.

A post on Pottermore revealed that the plot sees Grindelwald (Depp) escaping custody and gathering followers to his “nefarious cause”, after being captured at the close of the first film.

Newt Scamander (Redmayne) will then be enlisted by Dumbledore to help stop him, in an adventure that will span various countries.

The movie's title was revealed for the first time

Zoe Kravitz and Callum Turner are among the newcomers, as Leta Lestrange and Theseus Scamander respectively.

It’s intriguing that Kravitz’s character shares a surname with supervillain Bellatrix Lestrange, played in the main Harry Potter films by Helena Bonham Carter.

Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them was a big box office success upon its release last winter, achieving an overall box office gross of over $800 million.

It was also nominated for five BAFTAs, including Best British Film - and won Best Production Design.

At the Academy Awards, it scooped Best Costume Design, becoming the first film under the Harry Potter umbrella to be decorated with an Oscar.

Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes of Grindelwald is out on November 16, 2018.
