National Press Day was observed in on Thursday with various functions and events.

The Press Council of India (PCI), which started functioning on this day in the year 1966, has assigned this year's theme as "challenges before the media".

The Agartala Press Club and the Information Department also jointly organised the day in Agartala. assembly deputy speaker Pabitra Kar inaugurated the function.
