Hitting the theaters on November 17 is Vidya Balan's slice-of-life comedy Tumhari Sulu. Written and directed by Suresh Triveni, Tumhari Sulu is a story of a Mumbai housewife who turns into an RJ by night. It is backed by producer Atul Kasbekar, who previously bankrolled Sonam Kapoor's Neerja which went on to win a National award. Here are five reasons why you should give Tumhari Sulu a watch:

Vidya Balan
There is no doubt that Vidya Balan is a performer par excellence. But looks like, lately, films have not been doing justice to Vidya's talent. Begum Jaan, Kahaani 2 and Humari Adhuri Kahaani are just a few of the actor's films that bombed at the box office. But with Tumhari Sulu, Vidya is essaying the role of Sulochana, a cheerful and humourous personality much like how she is in real life. After a series of intense portrayals, Sulu comes as a breath of fresh air.

Slice-of-life
Tumhari Sulu's plot revolves around a Mumbai housewife who is a homemaker in the day and an RJ at night. With a husband in constant battle at a mid-level job, Tumhari Sulu witnesses the everyday grit of a housewife, a marriage put to test and a world that struggles to see the beauty of a so-called 'simple, ordinary life'.

Strong supporting cast
Apart from Vidya, Tumhari Sulu also stars RJ Mallishka, Neha Dhupia and Manav Kaul. Manav has been earlier seen in Kai Po Che, Jolly LLB 2 and Wazir, but this is his first lead role. With this interesting set of actors featuring in the film, it feels like much thought has been put into the cast.

From the team of Neerja
Tumhari Sulu is being bankrolled by Atul Kasbekar and team, the same set of producers who were behind the 2016 National award-winning hit Neerja. Speaking about the same, Atul said in an interview, "After Tumhari Sulu is released, this will definitely be looked as Vidya's top two films so far!"

Women-centric comedy
While Bollywood is seeing a number of women-centric films this year, only a few are comedies and an even lesser number feature a woman who is as fun loving, humourous and has a candid never-say-never attitude as Sulochana. With Vidya Balan essaying the part, Tumhari Sulu could be just the kind of film Bollywood needs right now.
