Thirty two representatives of the three-tier panchayat of 15 blocks of Pauri district would participate in the one-day seminar and Panchayat Mahakumbh slated in Haridwar on Thursday.
Prior to this, district magistrate Pauri Sushil Kumar ceremoniously sent them off to Haridwar on Wednesday after a function organised by the Panchayat Raj department.
The 32 village body members include gram pradhans, BDC members, Zila Panchayat members of all the fifteen blocks of the district.
Addressing the panchayat members gathered there, DM said village development and cleanliness would figure prominently in the seminar. It would further strengthen Panchayat Raj, he added.
District Panchayat Raj officer MM Khan said the panchayat seminar and Panchayat Mahakumbh would see participation zila panchayat president, block pramukhs, chatra panchayat members and gram panchayat members among others from Pauri districts as well as from other districts of Uttarakhand.
