(MENAFN - Morocco World News) Rabat - The Nigeria-Morocco Businesswomen Summit and Exhibition opened Wednesday in Marrakech. The event intends to promote the understanding of the business environment for women in Nigeria and in Morocco, looking to establish a joint platform to further boost partnerships between businesswomen of the two countries. The three-day event, organized by the Moroccan Organization for African Development in partnership with Pluriflash Nigeria Ltd., is being held under the theme "The Imperatives of Promoting Nigeria/Morocco Businesswomen Relations and Economic Empowerment." Speaking at the opening of the summit, the president of the Moroccan Organization for African Development, Hassan Lahlou, said that this meeting is likely to promote the entrepreneurial spirit in both countries, noting that Morocco has been able to develop South-South cooperation with African countries through the vision of King Mohammed VI. For his part, Pluriflash Nigeria Limited's CEO, Ahmed Shuabu-Gara Gombe, said that the summit comes as part of the partnership forged by Nigerian President Muhammadu Buhari and King Mohammed VI . "This is the first time in its history that Nigeria has concluded with Morocco 17 strategic agreements in various sectors, including 15 agreements on the occasion of the historic visit of King Mohammed VI to Nigeria," he said. The event seeks to promote business and partnerships between Nigeria and Morocco businesswomen and to mobilize foreign direct investments from Moroccan businesswomen to Nigeria and vice versa. "
