PANAJI: Bollywood megastar, Amitabh Bachchan, will be awarded the Indian Film Personality of the Year Award at the 48th International Film Festival of India (Iffi), scheduled to be held in Goa from November 20 to 28.
Touted as the 'angry young man' in his youth for his unique roles and sonorous baritone, Bachchan will be honoured with the award at the closing ceremony of the festival on November 28.
"We are delighted that Amitabh Bachchan has consented to accept the Indian Film Personality of the Year Award, which will be conferred on him as a mark of respect to the tremendous contribution he has made to Indian and international cinema," festival director Sunit Tandon, said.
A video montage of the veteran actor's prolific career will be showcased at the closing ceremony before he is presented with the prestigious award.
