JAIPUR: The trucks that have been queuing up on Jaipur-Delhi National Highway due to entry restriction into Delhi will be able to move into the NCR after the authorities lifted the ban.

Jaipur (Rural) SP Rameshwar Singh informed TOI that he had spoken to Rewari police and trucks will be allowed to enter into the NCR. "The vehicular traffic on national highway eight has improved there is no traffic jam. By Thursday night, the trucks will be allowed to enter into the NCR," Singh said.

Till Thursday afternoon, the Jaipur police had been stopping the trucks from entering into the Delhi. The Jaipur police had placed barricades near Manoharpur to stop trucks from crossing over the state border. This had led to trucks queuing-up on the national highway.

The Chandwaji, Manoharpur, and Shahpura police was asked to set-up barricades and tell truckers to return back. The situation had become difficult on Saturday and Sunday when several vehicles from New Delhi were heading to Jaipur.

"The traffic situation has improved from Sunday, if the ban has indeed been lifted then I am of view then trucks will be allowed to freely go to the NCR," said Narendra, station house officer, Manohar police station.

An official said that while they have learned about the lifting of ban through news reports, the orders have not been communicated to them officially. "I have heard that entry of trucks in New Delhi which was imposed a few days ago has been lifted. The trucks have been queuing up on the highway and situation may improve once they are allowed to reach their destinations," said the official.
