BELAGAVI: Communal clashes revisited the city's sensitive areas like Khadak Galli, Jalagar Galli, Ghee Galli and Khanjar Galli late on Wednesday night.
Though no casualty was reported, several vehicles were damaged as two groups threw stones at each other. Miscreants also torched several two-wheelers and a police van.
The clashes started at Khadak Galli and spread to the neighbouring Chavat Galli and Bhadakal Galli. Police sprayed tear gas to disburse the mob. Though the reason behind the clashes in unknown, sources blamed it on some outsiders who allegedly started throwing stones when the streetlight was off.
Police are taking the issue seriously as the winter session of the state legislature is under progress in the city.
