The Red Devils defender has been sidelined for seven months after sustaining knee ligament damage during a Europa League clash with Anderlecht last April. 

However, after a significant amount of time in the treatment room, defender Rojo started and played 45 minutes in a Premier League International Cup last night against Athletic Bilbao Under-23s. 

Rojo only featured in the first half of the game at Leigh Sports Village with manager Jose Mourinho keen to ease him back into action. 

However, the 26-year-old’s return will be a welcomed boost for Old Trafford boss, whose side currently trail rivals Manchester City by eight points after their opening 11 games.
