PANAJI: Minister for art and culture Govind Gaude presented the 'Yuva Srujan Puraskar 2017', at a function organised by the directorate of art and culture at Sanskruti Bhavan, Panaji on Wednesday
The recipients of the award include Mayuresh D Vast (music), Dayaram B Padloskar (literature), Jessica J Gomes (tiatr), Sucheta Narvekar (drama), Sachin Naik (fine arts), Chetan V Khedekar (folk art). The awardees were honoured with a memento, certificatend a financial purse to the extent of Rs 25,000 per award.
The 'Yuva Srujan Puraskar' (Navasarjan -Chetna Puraskar) is one of the schemes under which young artistes from Goa, who have excelled in and contributed to their respective field of art and culture, are honoured. The scheme intends to give recognition to young artistes for their achievements. Secretary of directorate of art and culture, Daulat Hawaldar, and director of art and culture, Gurudas Pilernekar were present.
Gaude congratulated the recipients and said that today's youth are far ahead in the artistic world, and keeping this in mind art and culture department will continue to organize seminars and workshops.
Hawaldar said that this award is a token of appreciation to motivate the artists and other upcoming talents.
