Sprint Bundles Hulu’s SVOD With ‘Unlimited Freedom’ Plan

Partnership follows recent deal between T-Mobile and Netflix 11/15/2017 9:35 AM Eastern

In the latest deal between a mobile op and OTT video provider, Sprint will soon start to bundle Hulu’s SVOD offering with its Unlimited Freedom plan.

The tie-up, focused on Hulu’s subscription plan with limited commercials (regularly $7.99 per month), gets underway on Nov. 17. Sprint’s Unlimited Freedom plans includes HD streaming and 10 GB per month per line of mobile hotspot data.

Sprint and Hulu said they also plan to offer Sprint Unlimited subs an “upgrade option” for Hulu’s live TV service, which launched in beta mode in May and starts at $39.99 per month.

The Sprint-Hulu agreement amplifies a partnership trend between mobile and OTT video service providers, as it follows a similar agreement between T-Mobile and Netflix.

AT&T, meanwhile, has been active with promotions that tie its mobile service with DirecTV Now.
