Class 12 student kills self in school

THANJAVUR: A Class 12 student committed suicide inside his classroom in Tirukkattupalli on Tuesday. According police, S Sathishbabu (17), of Nadupadugai, had been studying in a private school at Pazhamaneri road.
On Tuesday, he arrived at the school and was seen chatting with other students. Later, he told his friends he was going to the class room located on the first floor.
A little later when the others entered the room, they found Sathishbabu hanging dead from a hook on the roof. Preliminary inquiries revealed that Sathishbabu was a below average student. Sathishbabu recently scored single digit mark in a paper.
When contacted, officials of the schools told Express that their enquiries revealed that his parents might have scolded him, forcing the extreme step.
