Bharat 22 exchange traded fund (ETF) has received subscription worth Rs 12,000 crore versus Rs 2,000 crore worth of shares reserved. In an interview with CNBC-TV18, Neeraj Kumar Gupta, Secretary of the Department of Investment and Public Asset Management (DIPAM) discussed more details about the same.
Bharat 22 is a wonderful product, well balanced over six sectors and 22 companies, he said.
According to him, investing in Bharat-22 ETF is like participating in the Indian growth story. “I am sure investors will take part in the growth story of this country,” he added.
Speaking on initial public offering (IPO), Gupta said that over a dozen of companies are lined up for IPOs. So at an opportunate time and at right moment, we will definitely enter the market.
CPSE ETF is largely focused on energy and power sectors, he further mentioned.
On divestment, he said, “We are touching Rs 37,000-38,000 crore.”
