Market Now: BSE Consumer Durables index declines over 1%; PC Jeweller top drag

NEW DELHI: The S&P BSE Consumer Durables index was trading 1.17 per cent down at 20,054 around 01:55 pm (IST) on Wednesday, with shares of PC Jeweller (down 2.31 per cent), Rajesh Exports (down 1.92 per cent), Crompton Greaves Consumer Electricals (down 1.74 per cent) and Symphony (down 1.65 per cent) as the top losers.
Blue Star (up 0.31 per cent) was the only component in the consumer durables index that was in the green around that time.
Benchmark BSE Sensex was 126 points down at 32,816, while the NSE Nifty50 index was 47 points down at 10,139.
Among the 51 stocks in the Nifty50 index, 16 were trading in the green, while 34 were in the red.
ICICI Bank, Asian Paints, Larsen & Toubro, Tata Consultancy Services, Kotak Mahindra Bank, Hero MotoCorp and Infosys were among the top gainers in the Sensex index.
On the contrary, Sun Pharma, Oil & Natural Gas Corporation, ITC, Tata Steel, Mahindra & Mahindra, Wipro and Hindustan Unilever were among the top losers.
