Launching a blistering attack on the Congress over corruption, Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Saturday urged the voters of the State to take revenge and uproot the Congress party from power from the sacred land of Himachal Pradesh.
Exhorting the voters to hand over three-fourth majority to the BJP in the November 9 Himachal Assembly election, the Prime Minister while addressing a rally at Sundernagar in Mandi promised that Modi and Dhumal team would again ensure a new dawn of development of all sections of society in Himachal.
The time has come for the voters to take revenge and “punish and decimate” the Congress party from Himachal in the elections, said Narendra Modi.
Modi said the upcoming Himachal Pradesh Assembly elections are not only about forming a new Government but building a grand and divine State. This election is not only about forming a Government but building a Bhavya (grand) and Divya (divine) Himachal, said
he.
He reiterated that the “five demons” flourished under the current Congress Government have ruined Himachal. People should cast their vote for the BJP if they want to save their future from these five demons of mining mafia, forest mafia, drug mafia, tender mafia and transfer mafia, said he.
Modi lamented that nothing has been done over the past 72 years to harness the immense potential of tourism and forestry in the State. Rather the forest wealth had been destroyed with impunity, alleged he while targeting the Congress.
In a reference to the Congress’ decision to mark the first anniversary of the demonetisation as a black day, the Prime Minister said the Opposition party would observe “blackmoney day” and burn his effigies as it was angry with his fight against corruption.
The elections to the 68-member Himachal Pradesh Assembly will be held on November 9. The BJP has announced Prem Kumar Dhumal as its chief ministerial candidate. With campaigning at its peak, Modi also addressed a rally in Kangra's Rait on Saturday.
