MCOCA against four criminals

PUNE: Officers of the crime branch of the Pune police invoked the provisions of Maharashtra Control of Organise Crime Act (MCOCA) against four dreaded criminals who had recently kidnapped a city-based entrepreneur for ransom.


Senior police inspector Raghunath Jadhav and assistant inspector Sunil Gavali of the anti-extortion cell of the crime branch prepared the MCOCA proposal.


Santosh alias Lubya Chintaman Chandilkar (36) of Mulshi, Manjit alias Aba Mansing Sawant (26) of Sangli, Shashikant alias Pappu Machindra Kumbhar (28) of Baramati were the four criminals. A proclaimed offender from Pirangut has been booked. Chandilkar and his accomplices recently kidnapped a Kothrud-based entrepreneur for a ransom of Rs 10 lakh. tnn
