Josh Talks, a two year old inspiration driven and oriented media platform raised undisclosed angel funding to fuel its foray into vernacular languages targeting the youth of Tier 2 & Tier 3 cities.

In the current angel funding round, investors who participated include Apurva Chamaria – Global brand director, HCL, Rohit Chanana – head, strategy & finance, Hero Corporation, Girish Matrubhootam - Founder : Freshworks, Sunny Nagpal & Amit Gupta – founders, HTT Pool, Pankaj Kankar – CTO, Lenskart among others.

Founded in 2015 by two twenty one year olds – Shobhit Banga & Supriya Paul, the startup uses storytelling as a tool to produce video content that can provide inspiration for youngsters as well as drive them to take positive action.

“Our target audience comprises of 16-25 year olds in Tier 2, Tier 3 & Tier 4 cities - who are completely unexposed and with this round of funding & guidance from investors, it will help us launch into vernacular languages and impact this audience, said Shobhit Banga, Co- Founder of Josh Talks, adding that the organisation plans to launch in vernacular languages like Telegu, Tamil, Bengali, Marathi and Bhojpuri for mass scaling up.

In FY 2017 Josh has organized conferences in 10 Tier-2 cities and is targeting to do the same across another 20 cities like Meerut, Surat, Baroda, Shillong, Jammu and others. It also plans to organize 200 workshop across colleges in 15 smaller cities across the country to boost the entrepreneurial ecosystem within the age group of 16-25 years olds.

“India is a country which has extreme diversity in languages. A small portion of our population is left unexplored only because they are not English speaking, and this is where Josh Talks can now come into play with their foray into vernacular segment” said Apurva Chamaria, Global Brand Director, HCL.

In last two years, Josh Talks organised conferences in over 25 cities across India and reached out to more than 65000 attendees on ground as well as 25 million plus viewers online via Youtube, Facebook, JIO Chat, Dekkho, YuppTv, Uber, Scoopwhoop and others.
