AVM's Ahan wins MSSA U-10 badminton title

Ahan Raheja of Arya Vidya Mandir, Bandra won the Mumbai Schools Sports Association (MSSA)-organised boys U-10 badminton title at the Cricket Club of India (CCI) on Saturday. Ahan registered a straight sets 21-19, 21-15 win over Tanish Patil of St Gregorios High School, Chembur.

In a closely-contested first game, second seed Tanish took a 7-3 lead before top seed Ahan fought back to level the scores.

The second game was a one-sided contest which saw Ahan take an early 6-1 lead before winning the set 21-15.

Girls U-10: Naishaa Bhatoye (St Gregorios High School, Goregaon) bt Riya Vinherkar (Bombay Scottish School, Mahim) 21-6, 21-8; U-12: Aalisha Naik (Dr Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan Vidyalaya, Malad) bt Siya Singh (Fatima High School, Vidyavihar) 21-19, 18-21, 21-9; U-14: Hrissha Dubey (Jamnabai Narsee, Juhu) beat Manya Avlani (Chatrabhuj Narsee, Vile Parle) 21-11, 21-11; U-16: Rudra Rane (IES New English, Bandra) beat Saee Shete (The JB Vachha High School, Dadar) 21-2, 21-13.
