NAGPUR : Guardian minister Chandrashekhar Bawankule has directed NTPC's Mouda plant to provide jobs to persons holding project affected person (PAP) certificate issued by district collector, by December 15.
Bawankule had convened a meeting of NTPC Mouda officials on Sunday. He told the power officials that around 70 PAPs were yet to get jobs in the company. The PAPs had complained to the minister that outsiders were being given jobs by NTPC while they were being ignored.
NTPC officials told Bawankule that they had provided jobs to 1,322 locals. Recently 102 posts were created in Mouda plant and some PAPs were recruited. However, the Nagpur bench of Bombay High Court had imposed a stay on the recruitment process and hence PAPs were not getting jobs.
The minister then said that there were seven cooperative societies of local unemployed persons but they were not being given any contracts by NTPC. He directed the plant head to convene a meeting of these societies and allot them some work.
