Bigbasket co-founders Hari Menon and T C Meenakshisundaram join IIMK LIVE Board

BENGALURU: IIMK LIVE – a business incubator and entrepreneurship development centre established by IIM Kozhikode with the support of department of science and technology (DST) and the Government of India, has brought on board Hari Menon and TC Meenakshisundaram (TCM) on their board of governors, said a company statement issued on Tuesday.

Hari Menon is the co-founder and CEO of India’s largest online supermarket, Bigbasket and TC Meenakshisundaram is founder and managing director of IDG Ventures India Advisors, an early-stage venture capital firm.

“IIMK LIVE is a new centre of IIM Kozhikode set up last year with an objective to contribute to the country’s economic goals, and we are expanding the board of governors to include individuals with significant stature in the ecosystem,” said Kulbhushan Balooni, director, IIM Kozhikode and chairman, IIMK LIVE. “Both Hari Menon and TC Meenakshisundaram are likely to bring entrepreneurs’ and investors’ - two important stakeholders for an incubator like ours – perspectives in directing the centre’s policies, activities and governance.”

IIMK LIVE, Laboratory for Innovation, Venturing and Entrepreneurship, is a business incubator and entrepreneurship development centre of IIM Kozhikode set up with the support of department of science and technology, Government of India and is registered as a society under the societies registration act. The centre is envisioned to function as a business incubator with a purpose of creating a national centre of excellence that promotes innovation, new business venturing and entrepreneurship.

Indian Institute of Management Kozhikode (IIMK) is the fifth IIM set up by the ministry of HRD, Government of India in 1996.
