The Yeh Hai Mohabbatein team works like a family: Ribbhu Mehra

Popular daily show Yeh Hai Mohabbatein has seen many faces come and leave. But the one that has recently made a mark is Ribbhu Mehra. The actor plays Nikhil in the drama and recently, the storyline focused on his dramatic love story with Ruhi (Aditi Bhatia), while her family was against this match. With the show already having actors like Divyanka Tripathi and Karan Patel, it’s a given that any new actor would be afraid to share screen space with them. But giving his side of the story, Ribbhu, in an exclusive chat with indianexpress.com, shared, “I wasn’t scared but quite excited. They are really brilliant actors and also very sweet. They do their best to make their co-stars comfortable and help you prepare your scenes. YHM is a show where actors are asked to be natural, and that really helps.”

Talking further about what made him choose the show, he said, “Initially, I was apprehensive as the show already had established actors and it gets difficult for actors to accept new faces. But I took it up as a challenge and I was lucky. The beauty of the show is that it might have Karan and Divyanka as leads but it gives a good space to all its character. They are the main pillars but the others too are given a meaty track. Also as actors, you can’t be too fussy but rather choose roles that can help you showcase your talent. But post the adulation I have received, I really hope to do some lead roles next.”

Ribbhu was all praises for the team as he averred, “The team accepted me from day one with open arms and that’s the reason why I was so comfortable. Since the next generation on the show is all about the same age, we really connected well. I had a super time with them. Also the show’s team, even the one behind the scenes lives like a family. We have a special bond that I don’t think any other would have it.”

Lastly, when we asked him to share something about himself, he quipped, “I am a very musically inclined person. I have been a professional DJ and performed with some renowned international music artists. Also, I am a fitness freak and also involved in kickboxing and martial arts. Surprisingly, I love food and enjoy eating all kinds of delicacies. My love towards food actually pushed me into fitness, as I wanted to eat everything and yet be fit.”
