CPI demands release of water from Nagarjuna Sagar right canal

GUNTUR: The CPI leaders on Monday staged a dharna here demanding release of water from Nagarjuna Sagar right canal so that the farmers can cultivate paddy in the rabi season.
The CPI leaders also took out a rally from the party office to ZP hall and raised slogans against the government. CPI State joint secretary M Nageswara Rao demanded that the government release water so that the farmers can save their crops.District secretary J Ajay Kumar warned of intensifying the agitation if the State government continues to delay release of water.CPI leaders M Ramesh Babu and others submitted a representation to the Collector.
