NOIDA: Two days after TOI reported about name of a nursery class child being struck off rolls of a private school after two reminders about delay in fee payment by his father, the school has asked the parent to submit Rs 2,000 less than what it normally charges as "re-admission fee".
In an e-mail to the father of the child sent on Tuesday, the school management has said that re-admission can be allowed on his written request by paying Rs 2,000 whereas re-admission charges are Rs 4,000.
In an attachment to the mail, a note from the school's chairman says that the child can be taken back on payment of Rs. 2000 as re-admission fee without any late fees.
"Re-admission of your child can be allowed on your written request with the re-admission fee Rs 2000/- whereas, routine re-admission charges are Rs 4000/-. Kindly contact the fee counter," reads the mail.
However, the father of the child Mohit Gupta has said that the school is "bargaining" and will not pay any amount apart from the pending third quarter fee and the late fee charges.
"I am ready to pay the late fee charges but I will not pay the re-admission fee as it is wrong to charge the same. First, they struck off the name of my child from the rolls of the school and later demanded re-admission charges, now they have started bargaining," Gupta told TOI.
On Sunday, TOI had reported how the name of a nursery student has been struck off the rolls of the Modern School, Sector 12 after his parents failed to pay his quarterly fees of about Rs. 8000 due to financial constraints.
The parents of the child allege that the decision was taken by the school after merely one reminder on October 30 in the school diary, following which they got a note on the very next day saying that the name of the child will be struck off the rolls in case the fee is not paid.
