PATNA: One Avinash Kumar (15) died while Manoj Kumar (18) was injured as bullets fired at birthday party hit them at Satraiya village under the Parsa Bazar police station area on late Sunday night.
Manoj is undergoing treatment at Patna Medical College and Hospital. Both belonged to the same village and were watching a dance programme at a birthday party.
Parsa Bazar SHO Nandjee Prasad said on Monday one Subodh Paswan had hired an orchestra on his son's birthday and the two boys were watching the dance programme.
"Prima facie it appears to be a case of celebratory firing and illegal weapons were used in the incident," said the SHO. He also said the accused had fled before the police reached the spot. Even those present said they could not identify as who fired the shots. An FIR was yet not lodged as the family members of either the deceased or the injured were not in a condition to give any statement.
